About Clubs SA

Founded in 1919, Clubs SA is the trading name for the 'Licensed Clubs' Association of South Australia' representing a range of sporting, ethnic, community and social Clubs in SA.  Over the past 20 years changes to legislation can be attributed to the Association's commitment to maintaining its original mandate; to give Clubs a more equitable position towards becoming totally self-sufficient, whilst also providing the necessary infrastructure to promote sport and community related enterprises.

Clubs SA has a clear objective to preserve, promote and advance the interests of all Member Clubs.  Under the umbrella of Clubs Australia, Clubs SA aims to represent the interests of its members, such as excise duties, taxation, federal industrial relations, fundraising techniques and codes of practice for gaming venues.

For over 90 years Clubs SA has been effectively representing the South Australian Licensed Club Industry to government, media and the general public.  It also provides vital information and services for Member Clubs in their dealings with a range of government departments.  As an industry, Clubs have the power to influence government decisions, and as a peak body Clubs SA is key to ensuring this power is effectively exercised.

Is Your Club Run By Volunteers?OH&S Manual Cover

Members of Clubs SA are now entitled to a free Volunteer Club OH&S Manual**,

thanks to funding support from Employers Mutual.  This Manual is easy to use and

will assist volunteer Clubs to comply with OH&S legislation whilst providing a safe

environment for volunteers, members and guests.

Clubs would normally expect to pay hundreds of dollars or spend many hours

producing a Manual of this nature - it's free with membership of Clubs SA.

Does Your Club Have Paid Employees?Jigsaw

With the introduction of the new Industrial Relations System and

Modern Awards in 2010, Industrial Relations (IR) has become a mine field

for Clubs.  Clubs SA has appointed an IR Advisor/Advocate to assist

members with understanding the new requirements, explain the options

available and determine how to pay staff correctly.

Industrial Relations is one of the most important facets of operating a

Club with paid employees - if not undertaken correctly the Club could

risk legal implications and penalties.  Join Clubs SA for free access to

an IR specialist.

Free OH&S Induction Training for Members

As part of Clubs SA's mission statement to provide support and materials to members in relation to

compliance with legislation, a grant was sourced through the Employers Mutual Member Incentive

program to provide free OH&S Induction Training for employees, volunteers and committees.

Through this project Clubs SA will deliver a series of OH&S training sessions throughout the state,

whilst also providing a support DVD for the training and an on-line interactive training program.

All Clubs that participate in the training program will also be provided a free on-site inspection by a

professional to further support members to become compliant with this area of legislation.

The Clubs SA OH&S Induction Training Project will commence in January 2011 and will be included as

part of Clubs annual membership entitlements.  Join Clubs SA now to ensure inclusion in this project.
