Five guests accompanied Jo, the lucky winner along to the spectacular Ngeringa Cultural Centre just outside of Mount Barker. Working with Stoddart’s expert Electrolux Chef, Damien Walsh the ladies were put into teams of two and issued with a “mystery box”.
Using South Australia’s finest produce the challenge was to create a Pizza, Fish & Chips, Vegetarian Stir-fry and a Steak. Stoddart’s equipment in the kitchen is state of the art from cooking a pizza in 3minutes in the portable pizza oven to using the fryers and ovens it was a great experience for the Para Hills group.
Scoring was tough with the five judges scoring each dish on presentation, taste, team work and the best dish of each category.
Judges on the day were:
Clubs SA - Membership Manager, Christine Carter
Clubs SA - Sponsorship & Events Coordinator, Kristy Amato
Club & Hospitality Training Services - General Manager, Deidre Albrighton
Hospitality Catering Hardware - Tim Hawkins
Ngeringa Cultrural Centre – Facilities Manager, Kingsley Schmidtke
After tasting all the dishes – Karen & Helen were the clear winners. The group then sat back and enjoyed some local Adelaide Hills wines. It was great to see the fabulous Stoddart kitchen in use and the ladies learnt a few secrets of working in a commercial kitchen.
Thank you again to Stoddart and the judging panel for making such a day possible.
