Evaluation: Participants must demonstrate competence.

 

Objectives:

  • Correctly interpret the legal responsibilities that relate to the sale and service of alcohol.
  • Advise patrons on the effects of alcoholic beverages and the term "standard" drink.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of various strategies for the Responsible Service of Alcohol.
  • Assist customers to drink within appropriate limits.
  • Assess and monitor the levels of intoxication of Patrons.

This course is generally a requirement of the Office of Liquor and Gambling when applying for a Responsible Person's badge.  The course does not entitle the attendee to automatic approval for this badge - the OLGC application process must still be followed.
