Clubs SA’s business is administered by a maximum of eight Directors. Five of these positions are voluntary officers nominated by their member Club and officially appointed following a ballot at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The remaining three delegates are appointed by the Board when deemed appropriate. The Association consists of Chair, Deputy Chair and up to six office bearers.

John has extensive experience in gaming having been employed as a Business Development Manager at Aristocrat Technologies. He is Chief Executive Officer of the Channel 9 Adelaide Football League, the largest senior Australian Rules Football competition in Australia.
Venue Management position since 2004. 20+ years in the industry. Involved in several sporting Clubs in the Murray Bridge Area. Shane enjoys wakeboarding / water sports with the family.
Preston Stewart is the General Manager of Grand Central Tavern (Central District Footballers Club Inc), a role which he has held for the last sixteen years. He has worked in the Hospitality industry for over 35 years, having held senior positions within International Hotels, Restaurant and Hotel Groups, and Nightclubs resulting in having a very broad knowledge of the industry and what makes it tick. He has also previously been a board member of Clubs SA for a five year period. Preston’s work experience is complemented by a Master Of Business Administration from the University Of South Australia, and he is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute Of Company Directors.
Peter became CEO in September 2023. With over a decade of management, financial, hospitality and tourism experience, he is an invaluable inclusion to the Clubs SA and Club Safe teams. Peter has close links to the Club industry having been heavily involved at the South Adelaide Football Club and also through his voluntary work with various community organisations. Most importantly however, Peter is a genuine and passionate person who has the best interests of Clubs at heart.
Stepping down as CEO in September 2023, Mike remains a part of the Clubs SA team as a consultant where his extensive knowledge is proving invaluable. Mike was appointed as Clubs SA’s CEO in 2014, as well as Executive Officer of Club Safe, the responsible gambling arm of Clubs SA. He held this position for over 9 years. Prior to his appointments at Clubs SA and Club Safe, Mike held a number of senior positions within the South Australian State Government, spending many years with the Office of the Liquor and Gambling Commissioner and more recently Consumer and Business Services. Mike has managed large and small teams of people and was responsible for overseeing a number of amalgamations within Government Departments. He also has an extensive background in legislation, policy, compliance and enforcement, particularly in the areas of liquor, gambling and not for profit Associations.
Christine joined Clubs SA early in 2015. Prior to her appointment with Clubs SA, Chris worked at Consumer and Business Services in the Investigations and Inspections unit with particular experience in the areas of liquor and gaming. Chris has an extensive background in Catering and Hospitality having held managerial positions in various sectors of the industry. Rhys has a degree in Bachelor of Law and Commerce (Marketing) and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, with experience working at the Motor Trade Association of South Australia /Northern Territory (MTA) as a Workplace Relations Advisor. During his time working with the MTA, Rhys assisted members in many different areas, including WR and HR advice, customer issues, award and pay enquiries, employment documentation and much more. Rhys also assisted with and conducted training for members as well as attending member meetings. Rhys loves his football (soccer) and has played the game for a number of years, while his partner plays for the Flinders Flames Football Club. As a result, Rhys understands the important role Clubs play within their communities.
Annie joined Clubs SA in January 2022, with an extensive background in office administration. Prior to working with Clubs SA, Annie worked for a National Manufacturer, managing their busy office and warehouse. Annie enjoys travelling the high seas in her ‘spare’ time when not spending time with her beautiful grandchildren.
