Healthy Kids Menu

Clubs SA is thrilled to be representing Clubs at State level as part of an Executive Taskforce established by the Premier to “lead the conversation around supporting venues to increase the availability of healthier children’s menus”. The Taskforce also includes representatives from the Restaurant and Catering Association, Australian Hotels Association, health experts and community representatives. A Healthy Kids Menu Taskforce report, a voluntary Kids Healthy Eating Code of Practice and Guidelines have now been finalised, with the Premier launching the Program on 22 August 2017 at the Brompton Hotel.

Four pilot Clubs are trialling the program (Glenelg SLSC, Henley Beach SLSC, West Beach SLSC and the Parafield Gardens Community Club) and these Clubs are to be applauded for their efforts in adopting this terrific initiative.  Please support these Clubs the next time you are looking for somewhere to take the kids for a healthy, nutritious and tasty meal.

The Healthy Kids Menu initiative encourages venues to offer healthier menu options for children so you can make healthier choices when you and your family eat out. Eating healthier meals helps grow healthier kids and supports a healthy future for South Australia.
