Clubs SA Visits the Riverland Region
Clubs SA Visits the Riverland Region
The Clubs SA and Club Safe team, along with several Corporate Partners, are excited to reconnect with Clubs across the Riverland region in the lead-up to the 2025 Riverland Roadshow at Barmera Golf Club on Tuesday 24 June.
As part of our commitment to regional Clubs, our Membership Operations Manager, Justin, recently visited many local venues to learn more about their operations, community engagement, and ongoing contributions to their members and surrounding communities.
Here’s a look at some of the incredible Clubs we visited:
Renmark Bowling Club
Established in 1931, the Renmark Bowling Club is a welcoming community venue in Renmark, South Australia. With two top-tier KCL synthetic greens, it’s widely regarded as one of the best bowling surfaces in the Riverland. The Club provides a friendly environment for both experienced players and those new to the sport.
Renmark Club
Overlooking the majestic River Murray, the award-winning Renmark Club is a fully licensed venue offering alfresco dining, quality meals, and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Club is a much-loved local destination. Currently undergoing a redevelopment of their deck area.
Waikerie Bowling Club
Founded in 1925 and now located at Sichler Street, the Waikerie Bowling Club has long been a staple in the community. In 2020, it received a $600,000 grant to build a large shade dome, providing excellent playing conditions and attracting new members to the sport.
Waikerie Club
Located in the centre of town, the Waikerie Club is known for its friendly atmosphere and strong community ties. With affordable memberships, weekly draws, and drink specials, it’s a popular spot to socialise, enjoy a meal, and connect with locals.
Berri Bowling Club
Founded in 1928 and now operating from Glassey Park, Berri Bowling Club is a key fixture in the local sporting community. After challenges such as the 1956 flood, the Club has thrived and today boasts two undercover greens for year-round lawn bowls action.
Barmera Club
Overlooking the beautiful Lake Bonney, Barmera Club is a community-focused venue and home to the Barmera Monash Football Club. It’s known for its welcoming environment and family-friendly meals served Tuesday to Sunday.
Barmera Golf Club
This 18-hole, par 72 golf course is located in the heart of Barmera. Designed by Brian Crafter, it features undulating fairways, bunkers, and scenic views near Lake Bonney. Just 2.5 hours from Adelaide, the course is a highlight for Riverland golfers and visitors alike.
Monash Club
The Monash Club sits in the heart of Monash, opposite the well-known Monash Adventure Park. It’s a great stop for families and visitors, offering hearty meals, a cold drink, and a friendly, relaxed environment.
Barmera Bowling Club
Established in 1934 on Nookamka Terrace, the Barmera Bowling Club offers synthetic greens and stunning views of Lake Bonney. Its welcoming environment makes it a great place for both competitive and social bowlers.
Cobdogla & District Club (Cobby Club)
Since 1958, the Cobby Club has been a social hub in the region, renowned for its live entertainment and events – including the popular Cobby Riverland Music Festival. It continues to offer a fun, family-friendly environment year-round.
Lyrup Community Club
Located in the riverside town of Lyrup, this community-run venue is just a short drive from Berri. The Lyrup Club offers a warm, casual dining space perfect for locals and visitors wanting to unwind and connect.
